Alana's Commonplace Book: Entry 007
Much like Ron Weasley, I'm still 'ere. Confessions & A Dump of Saved IG Posts about Women
Welcome to my Commonplace Book — it’s supposed to be a weekly digest of the articles, videos, photos, music and/or ideas that I’ve saved and collected because I thought they were worth sharing — with you! But sometimes it doesn’t show up every week and I’m working on that.
Paid Subscribers get a fun, unedited (read: unfiltered!) voiceover that goes on tangents and adds to the content as I read the post to you!
First, Some Confessions
I really wanted to do a whole Met Gala breakdown of looks and art and the whole nine yards. It became too gargantuan in my mind to do and now it feels too late. But I may have a fun update for you in a few weeks!
I have not been loyal to the work and have missed the Muse many weeks. When the vibe is off because my life is wild and I’ve given into fear, doubt and laziness, I don’t write. HOWEVER! My focus is renewing. So you may see this space slim down in content but not in frequency. Starting…..now. I mean it this time!
Let’s Get Re-Started In Heeeeeerreeee
I want to whet your appetite for the next and final installments of the Gender/Culture/Theology Conversation we’ve been having over on Theological Lens. We’re going to wrap up our very brief, not academic overview of the Bible with New Testament ladies and then wrap up the whole series in a nice little pink bow for the girls and a little blue bow for the boys.
So I am going to just spit out a bunch of Instagram posts about women and cultural gender roles that I’ve been saving. Presented to you, without context, for you to mull over until the next series post comes out…next weekend, probably! If you want a ton of context and background and tangential thoughts, be sure to become a paid subscriber (as little as $5/month!) to hear me read this (and every Commonplace Journal Entry) to you!
Without further ado…
If you don’t watch any other posts, watch this one. This one is EVERYTHING:
